In Fairy Tale Inn, two players compete to be the best host, taking turns placing storybook characters into enchanted rooms to earn gold coins. The game is simple to learn and plays quickly, lasting around 15 to 20 minutes. Players select character cards and tokens, then fill up the guest list board, setting the stage for a fun and strategic game. As players place guests in the inn, they score points based on the room and surrounding characters. Each character has unique abilities, such as the Little Pigs who reward players for being close together, or the Big Bad Wolf who gives bonus gold for dominating a row. The game ends when three columns are filled, and players gain gold from characters with end-of-game abilities. The player with the most gold wins, making Fairy Tale Inn a delightful and challenging abstract strategy game for two players.
