Description

Get ready to build the ancient city of Pompeii in this exciting board game, designed by Frank Brandt and published in 2001. In Pompeji, 2 to 4 players take turns placing cards in a 7x7 grid, each representing different building types, numbers, and colors. The rules are easy to learn, making it accessible to new players, and with a playtime of just 45 minutes, you can dive into the world of ancient city-building in no time. As you place your cards, you'll need to think strategically about how to maximize your points, taking into account the emerging "streets" in the grid - horizontal, vertical, and diagonal. The game is all about hand management, pushing your luck, and clever tile placement. With each card you place, you've got the potential to score points along multiple streets, and the bonus system adds an extra layer of excitement. Score points for matching colors or building types, and receive a 7-point bonus for completing a road with the 7th building. Special building permit cards and statue cards, which act as wild cards, can also give you an edge. But beware - the game ends when the second volcano card is revealed, so you'll need to think fast and make the most of your turns to build the most impressive city and come out on top.
