Description
The Downfall of Pompeii is a game of strategy and luck, set in ancient Pompeii in AD 79. Players take on the role of citizens trying to escape the city before the eruption of Vesuvius buries it under ash. With easy-to-learn rules, the game is simple to get started with, but requires tactical know-how to win. Players place their pieces in buildings, trying to get as many as possible close to the exits, while also using Omen cards to sabotage their opponents by throwing their pieces into the volcano. As the game progresses, the eruption of Vesuvius changes everything, and players must navigate their pieces through the city, avoiding lava tiles that can kill their pieces and block exits. The goal is to get the most pieces out of the city, and the player who succeeds wins. With a playtime of just 45 minutes, The Downfall of Pompeii is a fun and exciting game for 2 to 4 players.
