Description

Farlander is a fast-paced abstract strategy war game set in the medieval era, designed by Asko Künnap, Asko Künnap, and Priit Isok. Published in 2002, this game is perfect for 2 to 4 players looking for a fun and challenging experience that can be completed in just 30 minutes. The game takes place on a modular board consisting of seven hexagons, each divided into 3 or 4 territories, providing a unique landscape for battle each time you play. The rules are easy to learn, with a simple explanation taking only about 5 minutes, but don't let that fool you - mastering the game requires a good grasp of strategy. The gameplay is divided into two phases: inhabiting and conquering. In the first phase, players deploy their knights one at a time, setting the stage for the battle to come. In the second phase, players take turns conducting attacks, with the goal of controlling the most territories on the board. With no dice involved, the game relies on strategic thinking and planning, making it a great choice for fans of abstract strategy and medieval-themed games. The only random element is the decision of who goes first in each phase, adding a touch of unpredictability to the game. At the end of the game, the player with the most territories is declared the winner, making for a thrilling and competitive experience.
