Get ready to embark on a thrilling adventure as a merchant in Mercatores, a game of strategic trading and profit-making. Published in 2017, this easy-to-learn game is designed for 2 to 4 players and can be played in as little as 15 minutes or as long as 45 minutes, making it perfect for a quick game night or a more in-depth session. In Mercatores, you'll take on the role of a merchant seeking to capitalize on the new market demands of the Old Continent, which is craving goods like tobacco, corn, and coffee from the New World. The game is divided into two phases: the invest phase and the profit phase. During the invest phase, you'll trade with the market, exchanging cards in your hand for new ones, and play cards to build your collection of goods. You can play cards in different ways, such as playing multiple cards of the same good or using special cards to gain an advantage. As you play, you'll aim to collect the most valuable goods and use your special cards wisely to maximize your profits. When the game enters the profit phase, you'll sell your goods and use your special cards, such as warehouses or ports, to earn points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins, making Mercatores a fun and competitive experience for all players.
