Description

Diner is a fast-paced game where 2 to 4 players compete as waiters to earn the most money in tips. The goal is to take orders, gather plates, and serve tables as quickly as possible, all while trying to outdo the other players. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, this 15-minute game is easy to pick up and play. The game features a unique pseudo-real time mechanic, where players pass action tokens to take actions, allowing for a madcap and social experience with lots of table talk. The action tokens can pile up, enabling players to take multiple actions at once, or they can be scarce, prompting players to urge others to hurry up so they can serve their tables. Designed by Matthew O'Malley and published in 2014, Diner is a brilliant design that will appeal to many gamers, whether they like real-time games or not.
