Description

Caravelas is a thrilling board game that takes you on an adventure through the Portuguese Discoveries of the 15th and 16th centuries. Players embark on a journey to explore the world, collect merchandise, and build a network of trade routes. The game is set on a world map with 32 ports and destinations, where players can navigate using their ships, following the real sea currents that the Caravelles used during that time. Each player has a card representing their three ships, indicating their ability to travel and cargo capacity, and they must strategically use their navigation discs to explore new ports and collect merchandise. As players navigate the seas, they can discover new ports, collect merchandise, and register victory points. The game is full of surprises, with event cells that can either hinder or help players, pirate cells that can steal navigation discs, and sinking cells that can put ships at risk. Players can trade their merchandise for victory points, and even acquire a fourth ship to increase their navigation autonomy and cargo capacity. With objective cards that offer extra victory points for reaching specific ports, players must balance their exploration and trade efforts to achieve the highest possible score. With its unique blend of navigation, trade, and exploration, Caravelas offers a fun and challenging experience for 2 to 4 players, lasting around 75 minutes.
