Description
DarkStar is a strategic board game set thousands of years in the future, drawing inspiration from classics like Dune and Diplomacy. Players take on the role of galactic empires, navigating a gridded board of systems and subsectors, moving squadrons in stacks to outmaneuver their opponents. As the game unfolds, stargates alter the board's layout, adding a layer of unpredictability to each move. With elements of rock-paper-scissors and variable player powers, conflicts are resolved through tactical core cards, and Imperial edict cards grant special actions, including free moves. The threat of antimatter missiles looms large, capable of destroying entire squares and everything in them. To counter this, players must collect three deep-defense codes, granting immunity to these devastating attacks and shifting the balance of power in their favor.
