Description
In Corduba 27 a.C., you'll embark on a journey to rebuild the ancient city of Corduba, nearly two decades after its destruction. As one of the heirs of influential Roman families, you'll compete to become the next Governor by winning the favor of the people and Rome. The game is played over three eras, each representing a decade, and you'll take actions in turns to produce resources, construct buildings and monuments, train legions, and tend to the people's religious needs. With a unique blend of worker placement, resource management, and area majority mechanics, you'll need to strategically manage your specialists and workers to achieve your goals. As the city grows and prospers, so do the possibilities for strategic play. New buildings and monuments provide new actions, and the game evolves significantly over its nine rounds. You'll need to balance your own ambitions with the demands of Rome and the needs of the city's inhabitants, all while navigating the risk of citizen uprisings. With no victory points to track, your goal is to garner the favor of the city and Rome, making each game a unique and challenging experience. Designed by Manuel Martinez Aranda and published in 2021, Corduba 27 a.C. is a game of medium to high difficulty that will appeal to fans of complex, strategic gameplay and ancient history.
