Description

A Peloponnesian War is a game that drops you into the midst of ancient Greece, where you'll take on the role of either Sparta or Athens, two of the most influential cities of the time. Your goal is to sway as many areas as possible to your side, using a combination of strategy and a bit of luck. The game is all about influence, rather than outright warfare, making it a great way to learn about this pivotal moment in history. In fact, it's even been designed with pupils in mind, making it a fantastic educational tool for kids studying ancient Greece. With each turn representing about six months, you'll need to think carefully about your moves, using the chit-pull system and point to point movement to outmaneuver your opponent. The rock-paper-scissors mechanic adds an extra layer of excitement, as you try to outguess your opponent and come out on top. The game is easy to learn, and with a playtime of just 20 minutes, you can dive into ancient Greece and emerge victorious in no time. Designed by Marco Campari and published in 2014, A Peloponnesian War is a fun and educational game that's perfect for history buffs and strategy fans alike.
