Description

Step into the dark and gritty world of 20th-century New York City with Omertà: The Five Families, a game designed for 2 to 5 players that drops you into the midst of a high-stakes power struggle. As the head of a crime family, you'll navigate the treacherous underworld, vying for control and dominion over the city. With a playtime of 60 to 180 minutes, you'll have plenty of time to build your empire, but be warned: the game rules can be a bit complicated, so it might take some time to learn the ropes. Each turn, you'll play a plot card to gain action points, which are the key to expanding your territory and boosting your coffers. You'll recruit and strategically place your capos in key locations, expanding your territory and getting in on the proceeds of illegal activities. But it's not all about breaking the law - you can also establish legitimate businesses to bring in some extra cash. And don't forget to keep an eye on your public image, as you can use your action points to bribe the police or newspapers to get an edge over your rivals. As you build your empire, you'll need to manage alliances and rivalries with the other crime families, all while trying to take down the hostile family leaders who stand in your way. In Omertà: The Five Families, the game is all about playing the political game and outmaneuvering your opponents. With a range of game mechanics, including action points, area majority, and voting, you'll need to stay on your toes to come out on top. Designed by George Manios and published in 2024, this game is perfect for fans of mafia-themed games who are looking for a challenging and immersive experience. So will you be the one to etch your family's legacy into the unforgiving concrete of New York City's underworld, or will you fall victim to the cutthroat world of organized crime?
