Friends and Communities with Pyramid Arcade
Description
Imagine a distant Mars, a thousand centuries ago, where you and your friends are about to engage in a thrilling conquest game called Sandships. This expansion for Pyramid Arcade, designed by Andrew Looney, is easy to learn and can be played with any Looney Pyramids and some six-sided dice. In Sandships, you'll compete to control three cities on the board by strategically arranging your pyramids to outdo your opponents. With two to four players, games typically last between 15 to 30 minutes, making it a great addition to your gaming collection. As you start the game, each player gets three trios of pyramids and chooses a corner space to set up their starting stack, or spire. The goal is to have the highest total pip count in a city to claim control. You'll roll three dice on your turn, which allows you to perform three actions in any order. These actions include transforming your pyramids into sandships, building or unfurling your spires, moving your sandships to different ports, or even zapping your opponents' pieces. With the ability to push smaller sandships out of the way and replace them with your own, the gameplay is full of strategic maneuvers and exciting twists. One of the unique aspects of Sandships is the use of black pyramids to represent dead cities, which can be either unused spaces during setup or the remains of a player's spire after they've been removed from the game. As players get eliminated, their sandships are removed, and their spires are replaced with these black pyramids. With its simple rules and engaging gameplay, Sandships offers a fun and challenging experience for players of all skill levels. Whether you're a fan of abstract strategy, science fiction, or territory building, this game has something to offer, and its short playtime makes it easy to fit into your gaming schedule.
