Description
Root: The Homeland Expansion drops you back into the wild, wily world of Root with a fresh batch of woodland factions, sneaky new cards, and a whole lot more territory to fight over. Designed by Joshua Yearsley and released in 2026, this 2‑to‑6 player add‑on cranks up the chaos with hand‑management tricks, variable powers, and a sudden‑death clock that keeps everyone on edge until the very last move. You’ll be negotiating uneasy truces, juggling action points, and scrambling to dominate key areas while the dice roll and cards flip in your favor—or not. The expansion feels like a natural, but wildly unpredictable, extension of the base game, letting you pull the strings of your animal armies, pull off daring point‑to‑point raids, and even pull a “take‑that” when you least expect it. Expect a 60‑90 minute whirlwind of strategy, betrayal, and forest‑floor drama that’s a little more complicated, a lot more fun, and perfect for anyone who loves a good fantasy wargame with a twist.
