Before the game begins, you'll lay out four strips next to each other in any order and orientation, which can even be upside down. As you place building tiles on spaces with banderoles, you'll get to move them to the bonus strip instead of removing them from the game. This can earn you all sorts of rewards, from wares like fish and grapes to coins, bread, and even 3-point victory point cards.
