18Ireland is a game that drops you into the world of Irish railways, where enthusiasm for trains is high, but the country's poor economy makes for a challenging journey. With up to 13 companies starting in a random sequence, you'll need to navigate the complexities of investment, track laying, and mergers to come out on top. The game's unique shareholder voting mechanism allows companies to merge, sometimes against their director's wishes, adding a layer of unpredictability to the game. As you build your railway empire, you'll need to manage your trains, which become obsolete in two stages, and make strategic decisions about which tracks to lay and which companies to invest in. With playtime ranging from 240 to 300 minutes, 18Ireland is a game that requires dedication and strategy, but offers a rewarding experience for 3 to 6 players.
