Description

It's the year 325 and the Roman Empire is trying to unite under one faith, but bishops are already arguing over tiny details. Emperor Constantine demands they gather in Nicaea to come to an agreement, no matter what it is. In this game for 4 to 6 players, you'll take on the role of a bishop trying to navigate these theological disputes and come out on top. The game treats these disputes as a game of politics, where personal ambition and social dynamics decide what's accepted as orthodoxy. You'll commit to one side of a dispute and try to guess which way the majority will go, scoring points if you're right. But beware, the player with the least points can still win if they've accumulated enough political influence to splinter the church. It's a delicate balance of alliances and strategy, making Nicaea a fun and engaging game that's equal parts slick tableau-building and emergent alliances.
