Description
In the year 2117, the effects of climate change have taken a devastating toll on Earth, and the need for new resources has become desperate. To fuel the technologically advanced society that has formed in megacities around the globe, researchers have turned their attention to the moon, where pure and effective mineral resources have been discovered. As mining corporations establish bases on the moon, they're racing against time to build a transportation network and mine as many valuable resources as possible before the freight rocket "Future One" leaves the moon in eleven months. Players take on the role of opportunistic investors, seeking to make the most credits by investing in and running private companies and mining corporations on the moon. As investors, players will establish bases, build road networks to valuable mining resources, and mine as much as possible before the rocket's departure. The game is won by the wealthiest investor, with wealth determined by personal credits and the current market value of owned shares in the seven corporations. With its complex rules and multiple mechanics, including auction, network and route building, stock holding, and tile placement, 21Moon offers a challenging and engaging experience for 2 to 5 players. Published in 2020 and designed by Jonas Jones, this economic and transportation-themed game is sure to appeal to fans of strategic gameplay and resource management, with playtime ranging from 150 to 310 minutes.
