Description

Valencia is the latest creation from renowned game designer Stefan Feld, and it's a real treat for fans of city building and economic games. Released in 2025, this game is a reimplementation of Strasbourg, but with some exciting new twists. For starters, it can now be played with just 2 players, making it a great option for smaller groups or couples. But don't worry, it still scales up to 5 players, so you can get a big group involved if you want to. The gameplay is surprisingly simple to learn, with rules that can be explained quickly, but don't let that fool you - there's plenty of depth and strategy to explore. One of the things that sets Valencia apart is its modular gameboard, which allows for a different setup every time you play. This means that no two games are ever the same, and you'll need to adapt your strategy on the fly to succeed. The game also features a new 2-player variant, as well as 10 new task cards and 5 new "Edifices" (which are fountains in this version of the game). The artwork is all new too, courtesy of "The Mico", and it's absolutely stunning. With its unique blend of area majority, auction, and tile placement mechanics, Valencia is a game that will keep you on your toes from start to finish. A typical game of Valencia will take around 60-90 minutes to play, which is just the right amount of time to get fully immersed in the world of city building and economic management. As you compete to build the most impressive city, you'll need to balance your resources, bid on key assets, and make strategic decisions about which areas to focus on. With its simple rules and deep gameplay, Valencia is a game that's accessible to new players but still challenging enough for experienced gamers. So why not give it a try and see what you can build?
