Description

Imagine running a business where the stakes are the rise and fall of an ancient empire. In Rome, LLP, you're the mastermind behind the Roman Republic, guiding it from its humble beginnings as a small city-state in 400 BCE to its transformation into a vast empire. This solitaire game, designed by Philip Jelley, puts you in charge of making the tough decisions that will determine the fate of Rome. With simple rules that can be learned quickly, you'll be navigating the complexities of ancient politics and war in no time. As you play, you'll get to choose which consuls are best for the job, deal with the censor who's keeping an eye on public morals, and outmaneuver the tribune who's representing the workforce. You'll also need to keep an eye on your governors, who are collecting taxes, fighting wars, and maintaining control over the provinces. But beware - they might just turn against you and march on Rome, making themselves dictator for life. Your goal is to earn prestige by making smart administrative decisions, annexing provinces, winning wars, and keeping the people happy with bread and circuses. With four different starting points to choose from, you can play through different scenarios, each lasting 10-40 turns, and representing 5-15 years of Roman history. In Rome, LLP, you'll experience the thrill of building a republic from the ground up, all on your own. With its unique blend of area majority, point to point movement, and solo gameplay mechanics, this game offers a challenging and engaging experience that will keep you coming back for more. Playtime can range from 120 to 240 minutes, giving you plenty of time to immerse yourself in the world of ancient Rome. Will you be able to guide the Roman Republic to greatness, or will it succumb to the pressures of war, bankruptcy, and popular revolution? There's only one way to find out - start playing Rome, LLP and discover the excitement of building an empire.
