Description

In Western Twilight, the world is on the cusp of a new era, and as the leader of one of the five great powers in Europe, you'll navigate the intricate dance of international relations, vying for influence and control across the globe. The game, designed by Edward Castronova and published in 2024, is easy to learn, with simple rules that can be explained quickly, but it's deep in strategy, making it a compelling experience for 2 to 5 players over the course of 90 to 120 minutes. You'll use a combination of military, economic, and diplomatic might to spread your influence, leveraging the press to sway public opinion and forge alliances, all while upgrading your empire's capabilities by dominating key regions. As you compete with other nations, you'll perform actions using your personal rondel, which can be upgraded with new abilities, offering a unique engine-building experience. The game's mechanics, including area majority, set collection, and action/events, all come together to create a thrilling experience where every move counts. With three possible endings - diplomatic, economic, or military - you'll need to carefully steer the world towards the path that best suits your strategy, all while being mindful of the looming threat of war. Will you lead your nation to dominance through peaceful means or will you resort to military might? In Western Twilight, the choice is yours, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
