Description
The Settlers of Catan is a classic game of strategy and negotiation for 3 to 4 players. Designed by Klaus Teuber and first published in 1995, it's easy to learn but offers depth and complexity. Players take on the role of settlers building settlements, cities, and roads on the island of Catan, collecting resources such as sheep, wheat, wood, brick, and ore to build and trade their way to victory. A typical game takes 60 to 120 minutes to play, during which time players roll dice to determine which resources are produced, trade with each other, and build their settlements and roads. The goal is to accumulate 10 points by building, collecting development cards, and having the longest road or largest army. With its modular board and variable setup, each game is unique, offering a fresh challenge and opportunity for strategic play and negotiation with other players.
