Description
Alien City is a game set in a distant future where players take on the role of competing builders constructing a city on a newly colonized world. The city is made up of towers and domes, with towers being owned by powerful guilds such as the Energy Guild, Synthesis Guild, and Control Guild, and domes serving as housing for citizens. Each guild has its own color-coded structures, and players must strategically place these buildings to maximize their profits. The goal is to position towers close to other guilds' structures to attract customers, while avoiding competition from other towers of the same guild. As players take turns placing towers and domes on a modular board, they must carefully consider the placement of each structure to achieve the best possible outcome. With a playtime of just 40 minutes, Alien City is a quick and engaging game that requires strategic thinking and planning. Designed by Michael Schoessow and first published in 2002, this abstract strategy game has won awards for its unique gameplay and design. With its simple yet challenging mechanics, Alien City is a great choice for fans of city-building and science fiction games, and its short playtime makes it easy to fit in a game or two in an evening.
