Description

Imagine building your perfect city, but you're not the only one with a vision. In Urban Tribes, you'll control one of several factions, each with their own unique style, as you compete for cultural influence over the town. You'll build businesses and cultural institutions, secure city council seats, and accumulate cash and cultural influence, all while navigating the complex web of alliances and rivalries with other players. With the ability to form joint projects with other factions, such as a Yoga Studio for the hipsters and preppies, or a Scout Hall for the rednecks and soccer parents, you'll need to strike a balance between cooperation and competition. As you play, you'll need to stay on your toes, using event cards to launch lawsuits and campaign attack ads to undermine your opponents' plans. With a playtime of 60 to 90 minutes, Urban Tribes is a game that will keep you engaged and challenged, requiring a combination of negotiation, territory control, and resource management skills to emerge victorious. Designed by Richard Gurley and published in 2017, this game has already proven itself to be a winner, taking first place at the 2016 KublaCon Game Design contest. With its unique blend of coopetition and strategic gameplay, Urban Tribes is a game that will appeal to fans of city building and competitive strategy, and is suitable for 2 to 4 players.
