Description

Solomon's Temple is a game for two players that's all about building the iconic temple while navigating the challenges of ancient Israel. Designed by Doug Gray and first published in 2001, this game is a unique blend of strategy and luck, with players taking on dual roles as the Israelites and the invading Babylonians. With a playtime of around 60 minutes, it's a relatively quick game that's easy to learn, thanks to its simple rules. As you build the temple, you'll need to manage your hand of cards carefully, using them to construct the temple, furnish it, and even build an altar, all while trying to disrupt your opponent's progress. But it's not just about building - you'll also need to contend with the Israelites' tendency to fall into sin, and the invading Babylonian armies that threaten to destroy the temple. With 100 cards to draw from, you'll have plenty of opportunities to play cards that will help you build, defend, or attack. The game board, which depicts the Old City of Jerusalem, provides a clear layout for your progress, with marked positions for structures, priests, altars, and more. Can you balance the demands of building the temple with the need to defend it against internal and external threats, and be the first to complete it and play the Filling of the Holy of Holies card? With its unique blend of mechanics, including hand management, roll and move, and set collection, Solomon's Temple is a game that will challenge and engage you.
